Namdhari Seeds was founded by Sri. Thakur Uday Singh Ji in 1985 at Urgahalli, Bidadi Hobli in Bangalore Dist for contract production of vegetable seeds for export from India. In the due course of time, a separate division was created for Research & Development of hybrid vegetable seeds, suitable for Indian agro-climatic conditions. Later on Namdhari Seeds Pvt. Ltd., was formed for domestic marketing of developed products.

The first couple of years were hard to tread and business picked up from 1988-89 when our reliability had made a mark on the customers. For production of new crops we standardised the procedures and identified the regions, which were ideal. More than the results in monetary terms, it was the challenge of achievement that constantly motivated us and gave immense satisfaction. This challenge, of growing different crops and varieties under different conditions, converted into achievement has sustained and generated greater interest.
